These are tricky waters to navigate, and by tricky I mean not much you can do. When we’re testing the top there are a few options:
You bust tf through on a screamer
You sweep the high—aka you come just a little bit above the high, then drop
Pull up shy — you come just below the high then drop suddenly, which is usually a signal
In other words…literally anything can happen up here. So how do we play it? And why did Milt not play SPY today?
You ether wait for a bottom slope trend rejection
On a more condensed timeframe like the 15 minute you wait for a top rejection that coincides with the break in the more recent trend
The overarching lesson: you are better off waiting to play the downside than trying to jump on a moving train.
